She joined Ball at the launch by via a video message from New Zealand.
“We are very proud to have such prominent supporters of the GLBTI communities as the face of Midsumma in 2014, Midsumma Chair Aaron Hockly said.”
Three life memberships to the organisation were also conferred on former Midsumma Chair Lisa Watts, visual artist Matto Lucas and author of last year’s Midsumma hit Gaybies, Dean Bryant.
Midsumma Director Monique Thorpe said the Midsumma Program launch is always an opportunity to get partners, supporters, community members and event producers to come together to celebrate.
“And celebrate we did,” she said.
Thorpe said she hoped everyone had a chance to talk with the producers and learn about what is in-store for Midsumma.
