MTV has announced the winner of its VGay competition, with Wollongong local Adam Larkham coming up trumps to snag the guest spot alongside regular VGay, Courtney Act.

Larkham was one of 100s of entrants to vie for the role but won out thanks to his flamboyant personality and fabulous Drag Tupperware parties.

Fellow VGay Courtney Act described Adam as "media savvy as a Kardashian".

“He launched a full-scale social media campaign and was on the cover of the Illawarra Mercury before he had even won. We had a fun time making MTV Mardi Gras magic!” said Act.

Adam will join Act, and special guest host Casey Conway on air from today as MTV Dance is transformed to MTV Pride, a dazzling pop up channel in celebration of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and to promote acceptance and equality in our community.

Adam said he can’t wait to take up his role on the channel and combine his love of performing with his passion for LGBTIQ rights.

“I am so excited to be MTVs newest VGAY ! I cannot wait to host the pride countdown with Courtney! Getting an opportunity like this is truly amazing! The fact that it is for the LGBTQI community makes it so much more amazing! I'm honestly still in disbelief!” said Adam .

Tune in to the MTV Pride from today (February 27) to join MTV as they celebrate Mardi Gras.
