Malebox hosts special Footy Ink launch
SYDNEY: Stonewall Hotel’s popular weekday event Malebox will host a special launch of the steamy fundraising calendar Footy Ink.
Footy Ink is a 2012 fundraising initiative spearheaded by the NRL’s social media portal, Footy Social. It feature a selection of the code’s players showing their tattoos.
Shot by noted Sydney photographer Pedro Virgil, it features NRL stars Todd Carney, Matt Cooper and Johnathan Thurston, among others.
Funds raised from calendar sales go towards The McGrath Foundation’s fight against breast cancer.
“It was actually a lot of fun and it is for charity so I had no worries at all doing it,” Thurston said of his involvement.
Gay fans are invited to celebrate the initiative with a special launch at Malebox at Stonewall Hotel this Wednesday night.
Sandor Earl of the Penrith Panthers (pictured), one of the models featured in the calendar, will be on hand to sign copies.
