To celebrate 30 years of grassroots HIV/AIDS work within Brisbane’s gay community - and to raise much needed funds - the Qld AIDS Council (QuAC) is hosting a party at The Wickham Hotel next month.

Saturday, August 30 sees the newly renovated upstairs nightclub at The Wickham turned into a homegrown version of Sydney’s Playbox parties, in what organisers describe as “a fanciful playground for big kids of all kinds, naughty and nice.”

“Spawned by a secret rendezvous and liaison between a PlayStation and Xbox, 'AVI' the friendly robot (pictured) is your audiovisual avatar, pied piper of tunes and synaesthesic facilitator of ceremonies. Zie is your journeybot of adventure guiding you to your destination with hir special and supersonic beats.”

Featuring DJs Arsee, Les Smith (of ToyBox fame) and Fradge, tickets are on sale now and available online here or buy them in person at QuAC, 30 Helen Street, Teneriffe.
