Garrett Bithell is the Deputy Editor of SX.

His career trajectory changed in an instant, and a dizzying foray into arts journalism started, with him contributing to a number of street press titles and websites around the country. He reluctantly finished his law degree and moved to Sydney for good, dabbling in a post-grad degree in journalism at UTS. With us since 2007, Garrett is the editor of AXN and the Arts Editor of SX. He also regularly contributes entertainment interview features to our other publications. Having played piano since he was five years old, he grew up on Mozart and Rachmaninoff, and has been wildly passionate about the arts – in every form – ever since watching his opera-singer aunty in Eugene Onegin when he was six years old. You are much more likely to find him in a foyer or at a gig than on Oxford Street.
